Ven Pongal using ELtheCook's Pongal 'Tadka'

  • Cook Time - 10 Min


  1. Rice - 1 Cup
  2. Moong Dal - 1 Cup
  3. EltheCook's Ven Pongal 'Tadka' (Serves 4 pack)
  4. Salt to taste (About 2 teaspoons)


  1. Wash Rice & Dal together 3 times with water to remove the starch.
  2. In a Pressure cooker, add washed dal & rice, 4 cups water & salt. 
  3. Cook on medium flame for 3 whistles. Let the pressure settle naturally and then open the cooker.
  4. Empty Tadka packet over the cooked dal & rice. Mix well & adjust salt.
  5. Adjust consistency by adding boiling water. Serve Hot.
